The First Nest – Mounda Beach (6/3/09)

Well, I have to admit, I never had seen turtle tracks before, so I don’t know what they were supposed to look like!

But Ellie, Mia and I were pretty sure that it was turtle tracks, and therefore, they it was probably a nest. This is what we were waiting for!

Ellie stayed and guarded the site while Mia and I continued down the beach. When we got back, Manu, the director of the volunteer program at the Katelios Group, had arrived. With one look he declared it a nest!

He set about training us how to measure the nests and the tracks. We got the data on the sheet and now await the arrival of more turtles!
